Basswood, also known as lime, linden, or American basswood, is a tree native to eastern North America. It can reach a height of 65-120 feet and has an average trunk diameter of 3-4 feet. When dried, the average weight is 26 lbs/ft3 with a specific gravity of 0.32 at 12% moisture content. It has a Janka hardness of 410 lbf.
